POLICE – Body believed to be that of missing Kamloops woman

The body of a woman has been tentatively identified as that of missing Kamloops resident Jo-Anne Donovan, Kamloops RCMP said today (March 23, 2023).

Police said her death is now being treated as a homicide. An autopsy will be conducted in order to confirm her identity.

They didn’t reveal where the body was locate, saying the investigation is ongoing but they do not believe there is any risk to the public.

Donovan, 57, was last seen at her home on Monday, March 13, 2023.

“This is not the outcome that anyone was hoping for,” said Cpl. David Marshall of the Kamloops Serious Crime Unit.

“Our investigation has now shifted focus to determine what happened to Jo-Anne.”

The Kamloops Serious Crime Unit is asking anyone who has any information regarding Jo-Anne Donovan to contact the RCMP at 250-828-3000.  Police are still seeking witnesses who may have seen Jo-Anne or her grey Chevrolet Impala around March 13, the date she was believed to have gone missing.
