LETTER – Government should be ashamed of its record on drug deaths
TWO HUNDRED AND TEN DEATHS due to overdoses and a poisoned drug supply, here in BC, for the month of January — that’s 6.77 PER DAY!!
AND STILL the buzz words from the B.C. government continue — month after month, and year after year:
… urgent challenge … we must continue to support their work … accelerate our efforts … adding more options … government is committed to supporting people … AND A FAVORITE of the government, this one has been used, I believe, more times than any other; “… our response to the toxic drug crisis by using all the tools in our toolbox …”
How many more months am I going to receive a government media release (https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2023MMHA0014-000278), from the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, showing NO abatement in the number of British Columbians dying from drugs.
This government should be morally ashamed!!
