POLICE – Pedestrian in critical condition after being struck by vehicle

A woman is in critical condition following a collision on the North Shore Wednesday evening.

On March 1, 2023, around 6 p.m., Kamloops RCMP and municipal traffic officers responded to the area of Mackenzie Avenue and Marcel Street, where a woman in her 30s had been attempting to cross the roadway when she was struck by a southbound SUV. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“The driver of the SUV is cooperating with the ongoing investigation,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“Traffic in the area was impacted until after midnight while officers collected evidence and conducted interviews.”

If anyone witnessed, has video, or other related information they have not yet shared with police, contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-7042.
