Police are looking for video and witnesses following an early morning report of a break-in and weapons assault.

Today, (Nov. 7, 2022), around 5:45 a.m., Kamloops RCMP officers were called to the 1300-block of Pine Crescent where a person observed fresh footprints leading to a home under construction.

“The property owner followed the footsteps and located a man inside the residential property,” said Corp. Crystal Evelyn.

“According to the report, a struggle occurred, followed by a brief chase, during which the suspect allegedly struck the victim in the head with a blunt tool.”

The victim received non-life threatening injuries. Tools are believed to have been stolen during the break and enter.

Anyone who witnessed, has video, or information related to this investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-40098.
