POLICE – Pedestrian, hydro pole struck by bus in Sunday collision

A woman was taken to hospital after she was struck by a small bus on Tranquille Road on Sunday (April 24, 2022).

Around 4:20 p.m., RCMP responded to the intersection of Desmond Street and Tranquille Road where a personal bus had hit a pedestrian on the north sidewalk.

After striking the woman, the bus swerved into a business parking lot, collided with a parked vehicle and a hydro pole, then continued on before coming to rest against a set of building pillars.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to hospital in serious but stable condition. The driver was treated for minor injuries.

Cause of the crash is believed to be non-criminal in nature, police said.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2022-13303.
