POLICE – Arrest made after man with gun reported in parking lot
A Kamloops man is facing weapons offence charges following a report on the 300-block of Columbia Street Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 30, 2021).
Around 2 p.m., Kamloops RCMP officers were called to “a medical facility” (presumably Royal Inland Hospital, which is at 311 Columbia St.) parking lot, where a man was allegedly present with a gun. An update advised police the man had since left the area. A vehicle description was provided.
“A responding officer located the described vehicle in the parking lot, after it was reported as leaving,” said Const. Crystal Evelyn. “Upon further investigation, police arrested a man and seized items, including a firearm.”
Anthony Ross Chambers, 43, is charged with one count each of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and careless use of a firearm. He was held for court and released with a next appearance date of Dec. 16, 2021.
Man arrested, stolen property recovered
In other police news, about $20,000 worth of stolen goods was recovered following a recent bust at a Valleyview motel.
On Nov. 25, 2021 around 8:10 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of an overnight break and enter at a business on the 2000-block of the East Trans Canada Highway.
Police reviewed surveillance from the scene, as well as from other businesses in the area, and were able to identify a suspect.
“Investigators tracked the suspect to a motel on the 1900-block of the East Trans Canada Highway,” said Const. Evelyn.
“When the suspect answered the door for police, the officers observed several dirtbikes inside, including one they recognized to be stolen.”
Police arrested the suspect and obtained a search warrant, allowing officers to enter the room, retrieve the stolen property, and return it to the business.
The suspect was released with a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion and subsequent charge approval process.

Wanted man believed to be in Kamloops area
RCMP are looking for asking for a wanted man believed to be in the area.
Sam Anthony Rossetti is wanted on unendorsed warrants out of Prince George related to crimes including breach of release order, break and enter, and assault with a weapon.
Rossetti is described as:
- 26 years old
- 6’3
- 165 pounds
- Brown hair and eyes
- Slender build
- Light/fair complexion

- Left forearm: Rossetti
