I WONDER IF those folks who are hollering indignantly about B.C.’s new vaccination card ever stop to think about the alternative.

Refuse the vaccine if you like, but why should you not have to suffer any inconvenience for making that choice when people are still getting sick, being hospitalized and still dying?

Obviously, we have to put an end to the drastic impact of COVID-19 and the recent disturbing upsurge thanks to the Delta variant. One way would be to shut down the economy again, which would ruin many businesses, closing them forever.

It would also deprive all of us with many of the services and goods essential to everyday life, not to mention the entertainment and cultural events so essential to our collective mental health.

Public immunization programs should contain the clause that says refusal of publicly provided
protection includes refusal of subsequent publicly provided care required as a consequence. I call it responsibility. The opposite is hypocritical free-loading.

  I agree with you.
  As a volunteer at a long term care facility, I have had to provide proof of vaccination.
  As a volunteer as a handler for a therapy dog program, I have had to provide proof of vaccination for me (Covid-19) as well as proof of vaccination for our dog !!!
  Of course this is accepted policy: anyone whose dog is going to be interacting with other dogs or the public needs to provide proof of vaccination for the dog. There is no question on this matter. Why is there such a backlash for human beings aka homo sapiens, to be vaccinated especially when safe vaccines are available?
