POLICE – Three arrested in backyard and mischief incidents
Three people were arrested Saturday morning (May 8, 2021) after police received a mischief report on Battle and Columbia streets, RCMP reported today (May 12, 2021).
Around 11 a.m., Kamloops RCMP attended the call involving three men who were allegedly going through vehicles and backyards. Police located two suspects, and a third was pointed out by a witness nearby.
All three were arrested and transported to cells. One man was later released with a court date, pending charge recommendation and approval; another was held on warrants for a separate file, and a third was charged and remanded in custody.
Tristan Fernandez, 24, of Kamloops, is charged with: one count of mischief by wilfully breaking a vehicle window and smashing the ignition lock; failure to comply with a probation order by possessing a knife as well as by occupying the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle without being the owner of that vehicle or having the registered owner in the vehicle; and without lawful excuse, possessing an instrument suitable for the purpose of breaking into a motor vehicle. His next court date is scheduled for May 17.
