POLICE – High-risk vehicle takedown near Vicars Road comes up empty
An early morning shooting in Chase led to a high-risk vehicle takedown in Kamloops today (Monday, May 10, 2021).
Around 6:45 a.m., Chase RCMP responded to a report of shots fired on Fairview Road in Anglemont. When officers arrived, they located one man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A vehicle was seen speeding away from the area. While patrolling near Pritchard, police located and followed a vehicle matching the description provided around 9:40 a.m.
With the assistance of Kamloops RCMP, a high-risk takedown occurred on the Trans Canada near Vicars Road a short time later. Upon further investigation, it was determined the vehicle and its occupants were not associated to the incident and all were released at the scene.
The suspect and victim are known to each other and the general public is not currently believed to be at risk.
