POLICE – Weapons, drugs seized during search of 13th Street home
A heavy police presence was visible on 13th Street Monday night (March 29, 2021), where a search warrant execution resulted in the seizure of weapons, drugs, and other items.
Around 6:45 p.m., Kamloops RCMP, with the assistance of the Southeast District Critical Incident Program, its Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Kamloops RCMP Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU) descended on a residence on the 900-block of 13th Street to execute a search warrant obtained as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
“As you can see by the fact that weapons were present and seized during this search, investigations of this nature come with a higher level of risk,” said Constable Cyrstal Evelyn.
“Utilizing the special skillset of the ERT members helps keep the situation safer for everyone involved including the public, police, and any suspects present.”
She said police seized numerous weapons, cash, drugs, and stolen property. Two men and a woman were arrested, then later released pending the outcome of the investigation.
