TNRD – Statement regarding RCMP investigation

Statement from TNRD today, March 26, 2021:

On March 19, 2021, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District released a public Request for Proposals to conduct an independent review and forensic audit of its financial records. Separate and apart from that process, information concerning potential financial irregularities has been forwarded to the RCMP for investigation.

The TNRD’s financial review and forensic audit will proceed as planned, but will be independent of any investigation the RCMP might undertake. Information obtained during the audit will be forwarded to the RCMP, where applicable.

The TNRD remains committed to ensuring full transparency and accountability throughout this process, and will report to the public with the results of the forensic audit. However, The TNRD cannot make further comments regarding this RCMP matter or any other criminal investigation.
