A 34-year-old Kamloops man has been charged in connection with a shooting incident Thursday (Oct. 1, 2020) at a Willow Street home.
RCMP received a report of gunshots at 5:15 p.m. The investigation revealed a vehicle had driven up to a home on Willow Street and that several shots were fired. Nobody in the house was injured.
Police went to a house in the Dallas Drive area Friday where a suspect was arrested by members of the Kamloops Crime Reduction Unit with support from the South East District Emergency Response Team.
David Jeffery Tremblay has been charged with:
– Failure to comply with a release order by being in possession of a firearm contrary to section 145(5)(a) Criminal Code , and
– Intentional discharge of a firearm into a place knowing a person was present contrary to section 244.2(3)(b) Criminal Code.
Tremblay is remanded in custody pending a bail hearing.
“This was a broad daylight, brazen drive-by shooting in a residential neighbourhood,” said Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay.
“Thankfully nobody was killed but we have seen incidents exactly like this result in innocent people being killed.”
He said the incident was connected to the drug trade.
