POLICE – Man dead after being attacked by pit bull at home he was visiting
A man is dead after being attacked by a pit bull in a home he was visiting late this morning (June 29, 2020).
Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a dog attack at a home in the 900-block of Singh Street at 11:45 a.m.
People in the house said a pit bull owned by a resident attacked the visitor, who died of his injuries.
The dog was secured on the deck of the home until Conservation officers arrived to sedate it. It has been reported it was then euthanized but that hasn’t been confirmed.
The B.C. Coroners Service has been notified and is also investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. Police refused to release the victim’s name, citing privacy under the Coroners Act.
