FEATURED COMMENT – Small businesses are heart of the community
Re: ‘Behind every ‘Temporarily Closed’ sign is someone’s fragile dream’:
Thank you, thank you, thank you for writing this. My daughter and I own a small business (downtown) and closing our doors last week was one of the most difficult decisions we’ve ever made. It wasn’t difficult as in should we or shouldn’t we, that was a no brainer…it was absolutely the responsible and appropriate thing to do.
It was difficult because we don’t know where we stand now. Will we even have a business to reopen?? How are we going to pay the bills?? Is our dream about to go up in smoke??
How will we recover from this?? Life is basically paused and we don’t know what it will look like when we hit the resume button.
All we can hope is that our community will remember all of us little guys when we start doing regular life again.
Please try to shop local and remember that we are the people you know, we are the ones you can count on to bend shoppe hours if you are running late, we are the ones that remember your names & we are the ones who donate gfc’s, gift baskets etc, because this is our community and we love to give back!! Small businesses are the heart of any community ❤
Stay Healthy Kamloops!! Please, please do your part and stay home. We sure hope to see you all on the other side of this!!
