The remains of missing person Richard Jules have been located.
Kamloops RCMP said today (Feb. 5, 2020) a resident found human remains last Saturday on Salish Road on the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc reserve.
Police said they and the B.C. Coroners Service’s special investigation unit have positively identified the remains as those of Richard Jules. His next of kin have been notified.
Jules, 48, was reported missing to Kamloops RCMP on Nov. 27, 2019. Extensive searches were conducted in various locations with no success.
RCMP said there is no evidence of criminality being involved in the death. The B.C. Coroners Service is also investigating to determine how, where, when and by what means he died.

“On behalf of the entire community of Tḱemlúps te Secwepemc we are very saddened that the remains found were confirmed to be our Band member, Richard Jules Jr.” (Lil Rick), stated Chief Rosanne Casimir.
Richard Jules, known as Lil Rick, was reported missing on Nov. 27 2019.
Lil Rick worked at TteS for many years starting back in 1996 as a member of seasonal landscaping crew, but also as security and general building maintenance.
He completed his building maintenance worker certification in 2003, and helped with different building maintenance projects over the years.
“He was a funny, kind and valuable member of our work teams, and our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family at this difficult time” added Chief Casimir.
Police say that there is no evidence to suggest his death was criminal in nature.
The family has been notified. It is requested that the family’s privacy be respected at this time.
