POLICE – Man sought after fire breaks out in hotel room
Kamloops RCMP are investigating a hotel room fire that broke out at about 8 a.m. today (January 30, 2020).
According to witnesses, they could smell smoke at the Travelodge on Rogers Way and went to investigate. That was when a man was seen leaving a second floor room. The man got into a pick-up truck and drove away.
Police say the man is believed to be have been registered in the room. Hotel registration information is being investigated but the name and license plate the man supplied have not yielded a positive identification.
The man is described as Caucasian, in his mid 30’s with facial hair. At the time he registered into the hotel, he was wearing a blue button down shirt and a red ball cap backwards. When he was seen leaving the hotel room, he was wearing a grey sweater. He was driving a black Ford pick-up, partially lifted with an Alberta license plate. The truck had a broken left tail light.
