An editorial by Mel Rothenburger.
THE ST. ANDREW’S ON THE SQUARE mess reached a new low point Tuesday with a lengthy news release from the City attempting to point the finger at the Kamloops Heritage Society.
The City’s statement is, no doubt, borne out of frustration, but such a tactic is, to my knowledge, unprecedented.
Two society members appeared at yesterday’s council meeting to ask why the City didn’t work with the society to update its management contract instead of abruptly terminating it.
The exchange got a little testy — that will happen when volunteers feel they’ve been treated unfairly.
