POLICE – One driver dead, one driver injured in head-on collision

The driver of one car is dead and the driver of another is in hospital after a head-on collision near the interchange of Highway 5 and the Trans Canada this afternoon (July 5, 2019).

At about 4 p.m., a white Toyota Prius collided head-on with a Grey Toyota Sienna.  The lone driver of the Toyota Prius was pronounced dead at the scene and the lone driver of the Toyota Sienna was treated by EHS and transported to Royal Inland Hospital for further assessment.

Traffic northbound into Kamloops was closed for several hours. RCMP is coordinating an investigation with the B.C. Coroners Service.
