POLICE – Collision at Walkem Road in Westsyde sends two to hospital

A two-vehicle collision on Westsyde Road sent a female driver and a seven-year-old to hospital today (Sept. 11, 2018).

At about 8:20 a.m. an SUV was waiting to turn left onto Walkem Road from Westsyde Road when a pick-up truck, travelling in the same direction, hit the SUV from behind.

A new traffic light was recently installed at the intersection due to traffic congestion at Westmount elementary school.

The  driver and a child from the SUV were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The female driver of the pick-up was also reported to have minor injuries.

RCMP said an investigation is ongoing.
