POLICE – Woman killed on Peterson Creek Bridge is from Vernon

The person hit and killed by a transport truck on Peterson Creek Bridge on Friday afternoon is a woman from Vernon.

The accident happened at 2:30 p.m. Police said today (July 7, 2018) the woman wandered on to the bridge at the last second and the truck driver couldn’t stop in time.

She was declared dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation, RCMP said.

The highway was closed for several hours for investigation.
