POLITICS – Proportional representation advocate to speak at TRU

An advocate of proportional representation will speak at a Fair Vote Kamloops event on Wednesday, July 4.

The presentation takes place at the TRU Clock Tower at 7 p.m.

Dr. Dennis Philon of York University is described by Fair Vote Kamloops as Canada’s leading authority on electoral reform.

Pilon “will explore what electoral reform offers British Columbia while challenging some of the most popular myths about both our current system and the alternatives.”

He has authored two books, The Politics of Voting: Reforming Canada’s Electoral System and Wrestling with Democracy: Voting Systems as Politics in the 20thCentury West.
