POLICE – Shots fired from one vehicle at another on McGill and Summit

UPDATE: RCMP located both vehicles involved in a shooting incident on McGill Road and Summit Drive today. No suspects were in custody.

Police are looking for a black pickup Escalade with an Alberta licence plate after shots were fired at another vehicle today (Monday, June 11, 2018) near the intersection of McGill Road and Summit Drive.

RCMP said the shooting happened about 1:25 p.m.

“There appeared to be two people in the vehicle, both wearing bandanas over their faces.  The victim vehicle is described as a small silver car.  One or more of the windows of the victim vehicle were damaged by the gunfire.  Both vehicles fled the scene immediately after the shots were fired.”

Officers immediately attended the area and flooded egress routes in an attempt to locate one or both of the vehicles.

Cpl. Jodie Shelkie said the investigation is in its infancy but there are no known injuries.  Neither the suspect or the victim vehicle has been located.

RCMP are asking anyone who saw either vehicle or who has any information about the incident to contact the RCMP at 250-828-3000.  If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
