POLICE – Suspicious offer of ride to 12-year-old girl being investigated

Kamloops RCMP are looking into what they consider a suspicious incident after a 12-year-old girl was offered a ride by a stranger in Brocklehurst on Thursday (April 12, 2018).

Staff-Sgt. Michel Grondin said the incident was reported about 3:20 p.m. when a middle-aged woman driving a black or dark blue mini-van approached the girl in an alley between Southill and Desmond Street, and offered her a ride to her parents’ place.

“The woman was a stranger to the youth and there were no apparent signs of the youths requiring help. Although there are little details available, the matter was reported as the woman’s behaviour appeared suspicious.”

If you have any information in regards to this matter, please call the Kamloops RCMP quoting file # 2018-11116.
