POLICE – North Shore community office to expand services this spring
The North Shore Community Policing Office (NSCPO) will expand its services for North Kamloops residents this year, with longer office hours and additional community services.
The NSCPO is home to the City’s Crime Prevention Division, which works alongside the Kamloops RCMP and manages a large number of volunteers to run various crime prevention initiatives.
The City announced today (Jan. 9, 2018) that the Crime Prevention Division will work with the Kamloops & District Crime Stoppers Society (KDCSS) to support its program for the Kamloops area.
The City and the KDCSS will sign a new service agreement through which the City will hire a community policing office coordinator who will provide direct support to the Crime Stoppers program. The community policing office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning in the spring.
The NSCPO building will undergo a facelift to the current garage bays to make room for more office space, change rooms, a forensics bay, and a dedicated space for the police dog services unit. That project is scheduled to be completed by spring.
“We are pleased with the plans and changes coming to the NSCPO,” said RCMP Supt. Brad Mueller.
“These new services and upgrades will better support our operations and, in turn, help us to better meet the needs of residents on the North Shore.”

Hi Mel … may I copy this article for my ‘community’ newsletter at RiverBend and Mayfair! I think our Senior population will be pleased to know that this upgrade of services on the North Shore is happening! … Kathy McArthur
