FIRE – House fire on Oak Road being investigated for possible cause

Police are looking into whether there was anything suspicious about a house fire in the 200 block of Oak Road this morning (April 19, 2017).

Kamloops Fire and Rescue answered a call to the house at 5:30 a.m. but it was quickly engulfed by flames.  There were five people in the residence when the fire broke out but all made it our safely.

The fire was contained within an hour.

Cpl. Jodie Shelkie said that because the cause of the fire is not known, both police and fire investigators are on scene to determine if the fire is suspicious.

Kamloops RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen someone suspicious in the area early this morning to contact them at 250-828-3000.
