31-year-old man arrested in connection with 12th Street shooting

A 31-year-old Kamloops man has been arrested in connection with an early morning shooting.

rcmppatch2The suspect is being held in custody at the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.

Police were called to the scene of a disturbance on 12th Street at about 2 a.m. and found that a man had been shot in the leg. The victim was taken to Royal Inland Hospital.

The scene was secured and police began the hunt for the shooter, resulting in the arrest later in the morning (Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017).

The Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating the incident.

Kamloops RCMP request anyone with knowledge of the shooting to contact RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-84.
