Thief rips off rural store’s ATM
NEWS/ POLICE — RCMP are looking for the driver of a white Ford F350 King Ranch crew cab with a white solid side canopy and no back window — and they’d like to know what he was doing in the early morning hours today.
Police report that an early morning smash and grab left the recently re-opened Pinantan General Store and community without an ATM. They say a lone male suspect broke into the store through the front door and used a tow rope and pickup truck to remove the ATM, damaging the front and inside of the store.
Cst. Jason Epp said store security cameras captured images of the suspect and the vehicle used in the crime. “It appears that the lone suspect is male, and was noted to be wearing a balaclava, gloves, black hoodie with logo and writing on the front and sleeves, jeans and brown slip-on canvas shoes,” he said.
Tk’emlups Rural RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man. Anyone with information on the robbery or the location of the suspect vehicle is asked to call Tk’emlups Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers.
