Three honoured at Gala for Arts

ARTS — Two Kamloops residents and a local business were honored Saturday night as recipients of the annual Mayor’s Gala for the Arts awards.

Well-known author Richard Wagamese was presented with the Literary Arts award, while Leah Bucknell was honored as Emerging Artist, and Noran Printing was recognized with the Business in the Arts presentation.

The Gala for the Arts is an annual event co-hosted by the Kamloops Art Gallery, Kamloops Symphony and Western Canada Theatre.

This year’s event was held at the Coast Kamloops Hotel and Conference Centre. As well as the awards and dinner, there was entertainment, a silent auction and draws.
