NEWS — Kamloops City council will be asked Tuesday to approve a development permit for an addition to the Chances bingo hall on Halston Road.

Chances Gaming Entertainment wants to build a 905-square-metre addition for a new lounge and extension of the bingo area, and make some changes to the site and landscape design. The changes are permitted under existing zoning but a development permit is needed before a building permit can be issued because it falls within the North Shore commercial development permit area.

A traffic impact study found there’s no need for any road upgrades but that a crosswalk should be added to enhance pedestrian safety from a nearby bus stop to the building entrance.

Suppose that it is rather hard to deny Chance’s Application, now that casino has received the go ahead up on Hugh Allan.
