Kamloopa Pow Wow in pictures

The 35th annual Kamloopa Pow Wow, one of the largest celebrations of First Nations culture in Western Canada, drew thousands of visitors from far and wide over the weekend, providing three days of entertainment and social gatherings. As always, the dance competitions — with categories like traditional, chicken, jingle and grass — were the highlight with their brightly coloured regalia. Armchair Mayor News contributor Daniela Ginta attended and kindly submitted this gallery of photos capturing some of the colour and excitement. I strongly believe that you should edit the word “costumes” and replace it with the correct definition of regalia.

I have no problem with that, though the definition of costume is “a style of dress, including accessories and hairdos, especially that peculiar to a nation, region, group or historical period,” which would seem to fit.
