Early-morning fire destroys Collingwood house

NEWS — A house at 578 Collingwood Drive was destroyed by fire early this morning.

The Kamloops fire department found the house fully engulfed in flames when they arrived about 3 a.m. and called Kamloops RCMP to assist.

Initial investigation has revealed that the house was under renovation and the fire does not appear suspicious at this time.

Cpl. Nick Lee said police will remain on the scene until an inspector with Kamloops Fire Rescue returns later in the morning to conduct a more thorough examination.
