NEWS — Sunny it may be, but it’s cold out there. At this writing Wednesday afternoon the temperature around Kamloops is 12 to 14 below and it’s not going to get much better at least until the end of the weekend, though the sun will stick around until Saturday.

According to Environment Canada, the overnight low should hit -19C tonight. Thursday the high should climb to -11, though today’s forecast was for a high of -10.

Saturday is much the same — sunny with a low of -19 and high of -9. Some cloud is supposed to move in on Sunday and into next week so temperatures should moderate. Flurries are expected by mid-week.

The Weather Network says there could be some rain coming.

It’s colder right now than normal for this time of year, but then January’s Chinook brought some warmer weather than usual.

According to the Old Farmers Almanac, March will be slightly warmer than usual, while April and May will be warmer and drier than normal.
