Volunteer recruitment is now open for the Kamloops 2026 55+ B.C. Games, and the host society is calling on residents to be part of it.

Taking place Sept. 8-12, 2026, the Games will welcome more than 2,500 visitors to Canada’s Tournament Capital and are expected to generate an estimated $3 million in economic impact for Kamloops.

The Games society said today (Feb. 24, 2026) hundreds of volunteers are needed across a wide range of roles, from event-day venue support and hospitality to logistics, administration, and leadership.

“We’re looking for hundreds of volunteers to help make the Kamloops 2026 55+ B.C. Games unforgettable,” said Kamloops Games president Ron McColl.

“Whether you can give us four hours or two weeks, there is a role for you. This is your chance to be part of something special and showcase our community’s world-class hospitality to the rest of the province.”

The Games will feature 27 sports for participants aged 55 and over from across the province, celebrating active aging and the competitive spirit of the 55+ community. This marks the third time Kamloops has hosted the Games, following 1996 and 2013. Volunteers will receive an official 55+ BC Games shirt, and an invitation to volunteer appreciation events.
