FIRE – Man sent to hospital with serious injuries suffered in house fire

A man was hospitalized Sunday night (Jan. 11, 2026) with serious injuries suffered in a house fire.

Kamloops Fire Rescue and Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP responded to the fire at about 11:45 p.m.in the 600-block of Shuswap Road.

“During the early stages of the investigation the cause of the fire is still being determined,” said RCMP Cpl. Dana Napier.

“Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP will continue to work with Kamloops Fire Rescue to identify the cause of the fire that burned the residence to the ground.”

Anyone with information related to the fire is asked to contact the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment at 250-314-1800 and cite file 2026-1106.
