POLICE – Bait vehicle stolen, tracked, two people charged with theft

Two suspects are facing charges after a bait vehicle deployed by the Kamloops RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) was stolen.
On Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, a police bait vehicle equipped with tracking and surveillance technology was activated after being stolen from a location in Kamloops. Officers from the CRU, with assistance from officers and Police Dog Services sections, quickly tracked the vehicle and safely arrested the two occupants a short time later.
“This is a perfect example of technology and proactive policing working hand in hand,” said Supt. Jeff Pelley. “Bait vehicles are an impactful means to target offenders committing property crime and holding them accountable for their actions.”
The investigation resulted in the recovery of the stolen bait vehicle. On Nov. 7, 2025, Carrie-Lyn LePage and Timothy Molner were charged with theft of the vehicle, along with breaching court orders. Both remain in custody awaiting bail hearings.
