Suspicious behaviour led police to locate three firearms, over $15,000 in cash and thousands of grams of several different suspected illegal drugs from a vehicle in a gas station parking lot.

On Oct. 23, 2025, around 8 p.m. Tk’emlúps RCMP were in the 400-block of Paul Lake Road when they saw suspicious behaviour related to a rental vehicle.

As part of the investigation police confirmed the driver had arrived in the vehicle alone and was prohibited from driving, which led to their arrest and discovery of restricted guns, drugs, and money, all of which were seized, with the vehicle being impounded.

The driver was released pending several Criminal Code, Firearms Act, and Motor Vehicle Act charge recommendations are anticipated.

“Illegal firearms and illicit drugs in our communities remain a targeted concern. We continue to proactively target and disrupt those persons involved in the drug trade, and in this instance yielded an immediate benefit, making all our communities safer”, said Supt. Jeff Pelley, officer In charge of the Kamloops RCMP detachment.

“This frontline investigation was further supported by Kamloops Crime Reduction Unit, as part of our coordinated approach with Tk’emlúps detachment, and those communities served due to offenders being multi-jurisdictional.”

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2025-35493.

“The driver was released pending several Criminal Code, Firearms Act, and Motor Vehicle Act charge recommendations are anticipated.” Why was the driver released? There are a multitude of serious crimes here, any of which could and should result in serious jail time. This kind of trash needs to be removed from the system, one low-life at a time. I’m pretty sure this individual is right back at it while charges are being investigated.
