TRAFFIC – Hooray, all lanes now open, traffic back to normal on Overlanders

All lanes of the Overlanders Bridge are now open. City Hall announced today (Oct. 16, 2025) traffic on the bridge is now fully restored after a summer of delays and backups while lanes were alternately closed to allow deck repair.

Line painting still has to be done, so drivers are advised to drive with care.

The project involved the removal and replacement of concrete and asphalt adjacent to the expansion joints (otherwise known as the ka-kunks).

The final phase forced the temporary closure of the Mission Flats/Summit Drive off-ramp for asphalt and membrane repairs.
