POLICE – Kamloops woman in custody after stolen vehicle is in collision

A Kamloops woman remains in custody after allegedly fleeing from a stolen vehicle Thursday evening.

On Oct. 2, 2025, at around 3 p.m., officers from the Kamloops RCMP Crime Reduction Unit observed a vehicle believed to be stolen as information related to the plate showed the F350 truck was not associated to any vehicles.

Police were able to identify the driver and eventually deployed a successful spike belt on Highway 5 in an to effort to safely bring the vehicle to a stop but it continued to be driven dangerously. A decision was made to not pursuit the vehicle for public safety. The truck eventually collided with another vehicle near Highway 5 and Halston Avenue, striking a power pole before the truck stopped.

“The driver and a woman fled from the scene,” said Sgt. Jason Pole, supervisor for the Crime Reduction Unit.”   “A short distance later the woman was arrested, the vehicle has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation and there were no injuries as a result of this incident.”

Anyone who witnessed, has security or dash camera footage that may be related to this incident is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2025-32931.
