Saturday, Sept. 6, at 4 p.m. will be the fourth annual Special Olympics charity softball game at the Norbrock Stadium on McArthur Island.

Every year Kamloops first responders attempt to win against the Kamloops Special Olympics. This year the First Responders hope to end their three-year losing streak. This will not be an easy task as the Kamloops Special Olympics softball team returned from the Special Olympics Provincial Games in Prince George with a silver medal this summer.

“Our office looks forward to this event every year,” says Kamloops RCMP Cst. Phil Whiles, one of the event organizers. “It is great to participate in such a fun and positive event.”

Admission to the family-friendly ball game is by donation. The Paddle Wheelers Lions Club will be serving up hot dogs for purchase. Money raised will support local Special Olympics projects.
