POLICE – Man cut with machete in afternoon attack on Victoria Street

RCMP are investigating an assault with a weapon that took place on Victoria Street on Thursday afternoon.

Just after 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, RCMP were called to the 300 block of Victoria Street after several bystanders reported that a man had been cut with a machete.

Kamloops officers as well as an off-duty Lillooet officer arrived on scene and intervened in an assault in progress where a male was attacking another man with a metal pipe.  Police located the four males involved in both incidents, who were known to each other.

A 31-year-old male was arrested for assault with a weapon.  One male was treated by paramedics for minor injuries but did not attend the hospital.  The investigation of this incident is currently ongoing.
