The seniors’ picnic is back for adults aged 55 and over.

Co-sponsored by Kamloops Seniors Village and the Hamlets at Westsyde, the event will take place on Friday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the east end of Riverside Park.

The Kamloops Rube Band and Gary Mockford will provide musical entertainment at the picnic-style hot dog lunch served by the Kamloops Paddlewheelers Lions Club.

In addition to entertainment, the event offers gentle fitness exercises with chair yoga and chair Zumba as well as lawn games.

Tables and chairs will be provided in the shade during the event, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, hats, and sunscreen.

The event is free; however, registration is required. Call 250-828-3500 or visit Kamloops.ca/SeniorsPicnic to confirm attendance.

Free parking is available in Riverside Park in the east parking lot by Sandman Centre. Due to limited parking spaces, attendees are encouraged to carpool or explore alternative transportation options.
