POLICE – Man disappears after jumping off Overlanders Bridge

Kamloops RCMP confirm that during the early evening hours of last night (July 30, 2025), a 23-year-old man jumped off the west side of Overlanders Bridge and is presumed to have drowned.

Witnesses reported seeing the man surface briefly before disappearing but attempts to rescue him were unsuccessful.

Police, Kamloops Fire Rescue and SAR responded, with both aerial and boat patrols being conducted in an effort to locate the man. Kamloops SAR were back on the scene today and, in cooperation with the RCMP, resumed efforts to locate him.

The man has been identified but his identity is not being released at this time.
