CANADA DAY – Thousands enjoy celebrations in a scorcher at the park

‘MAKE SURE to hydrate!”

Those words may have been the most heard at Canada Day celebrations today at Riverside Park, as temperatures passed the 30C mark by noon.

That. however, didn’t deter thousands from collecting at the park to enjoy speeches, music, multi-cultural food, displays and Art in the Park.

Traffic was heavily congested at times in approaches to the park but Kamloopsians didn’t let it deter them as they donned various styles of Canada Day attire to celebrate their country, seek out what shade was available, and visit with one another.

All in all, it was a good day.
