POLICE – Man seriously injured in early morning shooting downtown

Multiple Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers and the Police Dog Services responded to a report of a shooting early today (Thursday, June 19, 2025).

Just after midnight, police responded to a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound in the 600 block of Seymour Street. The victim was located and transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, the extent of which police said are unknown at this time.

The file is being supported by the Serious Crime Unit, and General Investigation Support Team, along with the Kamloops RCMP Forensic Identification Section as part of the ongoing investigation.

“Although the investigation is ongoing, current evidence suggests this incident was not random,” said Staff Sgt. Kelly Butler, watch commander for the Kamloops RCMP.

“We are asking anyone who may have been witness to this incident or has video surveillance to call the Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2025-19221.”
