POLICE – No criminality suspected in death of man in fire

A man who died in a fire on the North Shore is not believed to be the victim of foul play, following a police investigation.
Just before 2 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025, paramedics discovered a fire at the corner of 8th Street and Tranquille Road in Kamloops and tried to put it out. Shortly after, Kamloops Fire and Rescue arrived and extinguished the flames, finding a deceased man.
“Since then, police have identified the victim as part of their sudden death investigation,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn. “At this time, no evidence has been discovered to suggest criminality was involved in the man’s untimely death.”
The BC Coroners Service is conducting a concurrent investigation.
Anyone who has information that they have not shared, but may be related, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000.
