Break and enter in Bachelor Heights

While responding to a suspicious person report early Sunday morning, police officers discovered a home had been broken into.

On Sunday, March 2, 2025, around 5:20 a.m., Kamloops RCMP were called to the 900-block of Stardust Street, where a person in dark clothing, on a mountain bike, was spotted entering the backyard of a house. At the scene, police saw a shed had been broken into, as well as the residence, which had been thoroughly ransacked and had numerous items stolen.

A white pickup truck and three people were observed in the area just before 5 a.m.

Since the initial attendance, some of the stolen items have been located, but most are still outstanding, including a wedding ring and other jewelry, electronics, clothing, electric guitars, and sports equipment.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident, including video and dash camera footage, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment and reference file 2025-5877.

Impaired driving downtown

A revving engine and plume of smoke concluded with a woman losing her licence for 90 days early Saturday morning.

On March 1, 2025, around 2:50 a.m., a Kamloops RCMP officer was downtown in response to another report, when the revving vehicle on 4th Avenue led to an impaired driving investigation. A woman was arrested and a roadside breath test was administered, which displayed a ‘fail’ reading, indicating a blood alcohol content exceeding .08. She was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound under the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA).

The woman was lodged in cells to sober up safely and later released with the MVA charges.

Man arrested for threats

A Kamloops man’s response to be asking to leave a store led to his being taken into custody by police.

On Friday Feb. 28, 2025, at about 2 p.m., Kamloops RCMP were called to a commercial location on the 1700-block of Tranquille Road, where an employee had allegedly been threatened by a man who was unwelcome on the premises. Officers attended and arrested a suspect nearby.
