DRUG ALERT – Fake tablets sold as Percocet but contain fentanyl instead

(Image: Interior Health)

A toxic drug alert was issued this evening (Feb. 11, 2025) for tablets being sold as Percocet but that actually contain fentanyl or a fentanyl analog.

Interior Health said the pills look like white Percocet tablets and are being sold as Percocet but contain no oxycodone. The fake tablets carry a “very high risk” of overdose, Interior Health said.

“This is a counterfeit tablet sold as Percocet,” IH said in its alert. “It does not contain oxycodone. It contains an unknown amount of fentanyl. Using illicit tablets is not recommended due to the very high risk of overdose.”

The health agency recommended that drug users carry naloxone and know how to use it, use with others around, and be aware of the risks of mixing with other drugs.

The drug alert will be in effect until Feb. 18, 2025.

  1. The advertising department down at the drug trafficking warehouse really screwed this up. There’s a much higher profit in selling fentanyl than there is selling percs. This is a labelling problem. That being said, the shrewd fentanyl consumer could see some serious deals by scoring these pills at perc prices.
