POLICE – One killed, three injured in two-vehicle collision east of Savona

Both directions of Highway 1 east of Savona were closed this afternoon (Jan. 2, 2024) while emergency responders attended the scene of a fatal collision.

Around 11 a.m., Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment frontline officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on the highway. Three people were transported to hospital with unknown injuries and another is deceased.

“Motorists are asked to please avoid the area and watch DriveBC for updates related to the closure,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a statement shortly before 3 p.m.

No further information was immediatelyi available. Anyone who witnessed or has video related to this investigation is asked to contact the Tk’emlúps Detachment at 250-314-1800.
