POLICE – Suspect arrested after report of threats involving firearm

A person is in custody as part of an investigation that saw multiple police officers on Kitchener Crescent early today (Dec. 31, 2024).

Around 4 a.m., Kamloops RCMP were called to the 150-block of Kitchener Crescent where a person was allegedly making threats involving a firearm. A portion of the road was closed while police responded.

“Fortunately, the suspect eventually surrendered without incident and was taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

She didn’t say whether the suspect was a man or a woman.

Anyone who witnessed or has information that may be related to this investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-42320.
