POLICE – Public asked for help in finding skier who went missing at Sun Peaks

 Police and Kamloops Search and Rescue (SAR) are asking for the public’s help in locating a skier last seen on Tuesday.

On Dec. 11, 2024, the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP detachment received a missing person’s report for 68-year-old Tomasz Jaholkowski, who was last recorded as checking into a Sun Peaks Ski Resort run around 11:35 a.m. the day before, Dec. 10.

“Mr. Jaholkowski does not appear to have returned to his hotel room, nor has he been heard from since checking into the run on Tuesday,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“We are very concerned for his well-being and are asking anyone who may have seen him or has information on his potential whereabouts, to please contact police as soon as possible.”

Police, Search and Rescue (SAR), and Sun Peaks Ski Patrol continue to look for him, with the support of resources including helicopters and drones.

“We are releasing photos of Mr. Jaholkowski obtained from the ski lift where he was last observed, as well as an image of him without his ski gear, in hopes that someone will recall having seen him since that last check-in and contact police as soon as possible,” said Cpl. Evelyn.

Jaholkowski is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5’10”
  • Approximately 180 lbs
  • Grey hair
  • Brown eyes

He was last seen wearing a red and black ski jacket, dark ski pants, and a dark helmet.

Anyone who has information that may be related to his potential whereabouts is asked to please contact the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment at 250-314-1800.
